August, 2009 - Tower (Hard Mode) Cleared & Farming (submitted by anaskesia at 09:13am PDT) The month of August was busy for public raiders! Aside from the steady farming of T5 events (Discord Tower, Crystalline Tyranont, Rallos Returns, and others) public raiders took advantage of the treats that Sony offered up for their enjoyment: Giants, Giants, Giants: This event pitted the combined might of public raiders against the... weakness of various giants. Public raiders stormed through the event without any significant trouble. This event was the first of three events that will be used to unlock early access to the Underfoot expansion. What will the next two events consist of? Well, given the trend, the next events will undoubtedly be Spiders, Spiders, Spiders and Rats, Rats, Rats -- you heard it here first! Hard Mode Raids: What could be wrong with extra loot? Nothing! Public raiders have been taking on (and winning) hard mode raids at every opportunity. In fact, public raiders cleared the entire Tower in hard mode, which is quite an accomplishment! The hard mode raids have also allowed us to revisit our strategies, improve them, and really accellerate our tower clearing (whether in hard mode or regular mode). What does September have in store for EverQuest players? We shall see! Whatever it is, though, you can be sure that public raiders will be there to face it head-on. July farming - hard mode introduction (submitted by Xslia at 09:57am PDT) Welcome to JULY - the traditional month in EQ where numbers are lower then average. While we are not seeing our 72+ mark hit in a few weeks, we still are able to do normal and now hard mode event - . Public is going strong! We are now able to mix in hard mode events with normal events and I must say, being able to down Mindblight on hard mode is a rush. Our first attemtp we literally had 6 seconds left on clock, our second attempt we had 3 minutes to spare. So we are still challenging raiders with 4 months left till new expansion!!! Not to mention the wonderful Tier 4.5 loot items. 21 events on lockout this week - you guys have been working hard!!!!! (I might have missed one or 2 on lockout window due to sitting an event but overall this is a great thing!). /cheer public raiders

Public closes an expansion!!! (submitted by Xslia at 08:39am PDT) Forums: http://www.ecipublic.org This week public finished the latest expansion with the completion of Zek Brothers', Rallos Returns, and Fall of Tosk!! I truely believe there should be a some sort of frigging title or BETTER loot for beating Zeks. Where to from here - we farm and prepare for the NEXT expansion a few months down the road. All of us still need upgrades, I don't think anyone is full 4.5 gear yet or full tower and jeeze we still need like 2000+ runes to complete our tomes/spells. I'll be working with class leaders the next few weeks to dicuss a slighthy different raid schedule from now to fall for several reasons. If and when we have a change I'll let everyone know. For now enjoy some pictures!

ZEK Brothers - left the zone! (submitted by Xslia at 08:15am PDT) Forums: http://www.ecipublic.org WE NEVER HAVE TO GO BACK!!! I think that was the overwhelming sentiment last night as we won the Zeks event. One of the DKP administrators asked me as he was posting the raid (Adruger) if he could mark it as a retired raid at the same time !!!! Nothing in tower is hard as Zek's, this was just one intense fight and a lot of different things going on in various parts of the room. I think raiders deserve a Title for wining that event vs end mob in tower ... or 4 bloody chests full of 6 loots each and 300 glowing runes!!! The raiders have taken a beating on this event time after time - and many deaths we have gotten the brother down to their end a few times the past weeks only to be chewed up by adds. Not only did the raiders celebrate their win over the brothers zek, we met up with a new Zek right after that was dispatched also, Raiders decided to stay late and finish off the instance with the 2 events. Gratz public raiders - you have now opened up the rest of the warrens/earth events - 2 more raid events to work on!
